Munawar Faruqui bail plea rejected by HC; Celebrities, comedians express anguish

Comics Neeti Palta, Anuvab Pal and director Onir are the few names from the entertainment industry who have expressed disappointment over the Madhya Pradesh High Court''s decision of turning down the bail plea of comedian Munawar Faruqui who is accused of passing "indecent" remarks about Hindu deities during a show in Indore. Liberty of a person has to be "balanced" with his duties towards other citizens, Justice Rohit Arya of the Indore bench of the high court said, citing a Supreme Court ruling.
